Blizzard launched its most recent major Hearthstone expansion Madness at the Darkmoon Faire just this past November, but today they’ve announced a change to the normal rhythm of their new content releases: A mid-season update and a mini-set of new cards. Yes, rather than wait out another major expansion, the Darkmoon Faire and the new Duels mode are getting a smaller bump of new content in the version 19.4 patch which will be arriving later this week. First up is the Darkmoon Races Mini-Set which will feature 35 new cards. The new cards are broken down into 4 Legendary cards, 1 Epic card (x2), 14 Rare cards (x2), and 16 Common cards (x2), and all will be available through Madness at the Darkmoon Faire card packs. Additionally, for the first time ever, the entire 66 card pack can be purchased in a single bundle costing $14.99 or 2000 Gold. You can get a full breakdown of the details and new cards over on the Hearthstone blog, and you can see some of the Darkmoon Races set in action in the following trailer.

The other big portion of the version 19.4 update to Hearthstone is a mid-season update to the Duels mode. This will see player ratings reset for Casual and Heroic, and the aforementioned Darkmoon Races mini-set of new cards will be added to the pool of eligible cards to build out your 15-card starter deck in Duels. Also each class will gain access to one new Hero Power and three new Signature Treasures, including a Dual-Class Signature Treasure, and there will be 4 new Passive Treasures and 2 new Active Treasures to supplement your deck with in between games. You can get the full rundown of all the new Hero Powers, Signature Treasures, and Active and Passive treasures over on the Hearthstone blog. You can also find a more general overview of the 19.4 update including plenty of new stuff for Battlegrounds, an Arena rotation, lots of bug fixes, and a preview of the next Hearthstone Book of Heroes chapter which is set to launch February 2nd. Hearthstone’s version 19.4 update will arrive this Thursday, January 21st.
